For a mid-sized brand, a practical China shortlist should not be built around the lowest advertised MOQ alone. Product category, fabric control, construction capability, sampling workflow, quality evidence and the factory assigned to the purchase order all affect whether a supplier is suitable.
The five manufacturers reviewed here are not interchangeable. Each is aligned with a different type of sportswear program.
Publisher disclosure: This guide is published by Athletik Clothing, and Athletik is included as one of the five candidates. The list is an evidence-based sourcing starting point, not an independent factory audit or a claim that Athletik is the best supplier for every project. All competing-supplier capabilities and commercial terms below are based on those suppliers' own public information and should be verified before an order.
Quick comparison
| Manufacturer | Location and best public fit | Public MOQ signal | Capability and evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Athletik Clothing | Location: Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Best fit: Technical cut-and-sew knitwear, compression, base layers, Merino wool and outdoor performance apparel |
500 pieces per style for garments | Public capability: Own fabric mill; FLATLOCK; ACTIVESEAM; stretch and functional knitted fabrics Evidence: First-party information published by this article's owner |
| HUCAI Sportswear | Location: Humen, Dongguan, Guangdong Best fit: Fashion-led gym, yoga, athleisure and coordinated activewear collections |
Current FAQ states from 100 pieces per style; another factory page states 200 pieces per design | Public capability: OEM/ODM development, pattern making, sampling, fabric testing, sewing and QC Evidence: Company-reported; MOQ inconsistency must be resolved in the RFQ |
| SANSANSUN | Location: Dongguan, Guangdong Best fit: Women's and men's activewear, seamless programs, bonded/stitch-free options and broader private-label ranges |
Company states OEM projects typically start around 300 pieces; lower figures apply to ODM or stock programs | Public capability: OEM/ODM, cut-and-sew, seamless knitting, bonded construction, fabric sourcing and product development Evidence: Company-reported; distinguish full custom OEM from ODM and wholesale terms |
| INGORSPORTS | Location: Guangzhou, Guangdong Best fit: Yoga, gym, running and tennis activewear, including recycled-material programs |
A public product page shows 300 pieces per style, while its on-page FAQ gives a different custom-design figure | Public capability: OEM/ODM, design, fabric sourcing, sampling, production, QC and global delivery Evidence: Company-reported; resolve MOQ inconsistency and verify the nominated production site |
| Bellasports / Xiamen Bella Fitness Co., Ltd. | Location: Xiamen, Fujian Best fit: Yoga, gym, running, tennis, golf, hiking and bonded activewear |
Core site does not state one universal MOQ clearly; company social material states 500 pieces | Public capability: Own-fabric-mill claim, bonded technology, OEM/ODM and multi-sport product development Evidence: Company-reported; confirm factory address, MOQ and production allocation in writing |
The table is a screening tool, not a substitute for sampling or due diligence. A published MOQ can also refer to different things—stock product, ODM style, custom OEM design, one color or one complete style—so buyers should request the exact color and size allocation in the quotation.
How these five manufacturers were selected
The shortlist uses five practical filters:
- China-based manufacturing relevance. The company publicly identifies a China operation connected to sportswear or performance-apparel production.
- OEM/ODM scope. The supplier publicly describes custom development or production for other brands, rather than only selling its own retail products.
- Product fit. Its public range includes sportswear, activewear or closely related technical knit products.
- Commercial fit for a mid-sized brand. The available information indicates that a 500-piece-per-style program is within or above the supplier's public starting range, subject to fabric, color and construction.
- Extractable evidence. The site provides enough information about products, process, machinery, materials, MOQ or location for a buyer to form specific verification questions.
The review did not independently verify current machine inventories, factory ownership, audit validity, production availability or customer relationships. Those checks belong in supplier qualification. The order below is not a quality ranking.
Athletik Clothing — technical knitwear and specialized seam construction
Best suited to: established and mid-sized brands developing cut-and-sew technical knitwear, especially compression garments, performance base layers, underwear, running or studio wear, outdoor layers and Merino wool programs.
Athletik Clothing operates its manufacturing facility in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu. Its public sportswear manufacturing program covers training tops, tanks, tees, leggings, shorts, compression pieces, yoga and studio wear, running singlets and performance layers. The company states a garment MOQ of 500 pieces per style, with the material, color and size allocation confirmed in the project quotation.
The differentiator is technical-knit execution. Athletik develops knitted fabrics through its own fabric mill and offers FLATLOCK and, where specified for the product, ACTIVESEAM construction. Stretch, recovery, opacity, moisture management and other performance criteria are intended to be defined against the selected fabric, approved sample and agreed test method rather than treated as universal fabric claims.
What to verify before nomination: the fabric specification and finishing route, seam map, construction sample on the nominated fabric, available line allocation, testing criteria, color/size split and current delivery schedule.
HUCAI Sportswear — fashion-led gym, yoga and athleisure collections
Best suited to: brands that need coordinated leggings, sports bras, tops, shorts, joggers, tracksuits, hoodies, jackets and fashion-led gym or athleisure collections.
Dongguan Humen Hucai Garment Co., Ltd. describes itself as an OEM/ODM gym- and sportswear manufacturer in Humen, Dongguan. Its factory-process page shows a workflow from design, pattern making and sampling through fabric testing, cutting, printing, sewing, QC and packing. This makes HUCAI a relevant comparison for brands that need style development and a broad activewear range.
HUCAI's current public MOQ information is inconsistent: a September 2026 FAQ states that orders start from 100 pieces per style, while its factory page states 200 pieces per design. A buyer should therefore treat neither figure as the final term and ask HUCAI to state the applicable minimum by design, color, fabric and size range in the quotation.
What to verify before nomination: which facility will produce the order, whether the selected fabric is stock or custom-developed, exact MOQ allocation, current social-audit scope, sample and bulk lead time, and construction capability for the intended garment.
SANSANSUN — cut-and-sew, seamless and bonded activewear options
Best suited to: brands comparing conventional cut-and-sew activewear with seamless-knit or bonded/stitch-free product routes.
SANSANSUN publicly presents a broad range covering yoga, gym training, athleisure, outdoor, modest activewear, compression, seamless activewear and bonded or stitch-free products. Its OEM/ODM page distinguishes OEM work based on a production-ready tech pack from ODM development based on a concept or design direction.
The company states that fully custom OEM projects typically start around 300 pieces, while lower quantities may apply to ODM or in-stock wholesale programs. That distinction matters: a low wholesale minimum does not prove that a custom fabric, unique pattern and private-label construction can be produced at the same quantity.
What to verify before nomination: whether the style is cut-and-sew or seamless-knit, which processes are in-house, custom yarn or fabric minimums, bonded-material compatibility, testing and inspection criteria, and the MOQ for the exact customization level.
INGORSPORTS — scalable activewear and recycled-material programs
Best suited to: brands sourcing yoga, gym, running, tennis and general activewear with a need for broader production scale or recycled-material options.
Guangzhou INGOR sportswear Co., Ltd. describes its business as OEM/ODM production covering design, fabric sourcing, pattern making, sampling, manufacturing, quality inspection and delivery. Its public range includes sports bras, leggings, shorts, tennis wear, children's sportswear, yoga sets, T-shirts, crop tops and men's gym wear.
One public INGOR product page shows a starting point of 300 pieces per style, while an FAQ on the same page gives a different custom-design figure. Product-level terms therefore need written confirmation. INGOR also lists several certification and assessment programs, but a buyer should request the actual current documents and check the legal entity, site, product or material scope and validity date rather than relying on website logos.
What to verify before nomination: the facility assigned to the order, fabric source, recycled-content chain-of-custody documents where required, exact MOQ and color allocation, sample approval route, inspection plan and available capacity for the target delivery window.
Bellasports — multi-sport development and bonded construction
Best suited to: brands developing yoga, gym, running, tennis, golf, hiking, riding or lifestyle sportswear, particularly where bonded construction or a broad multi-sport range is relevant.
Xiamen Bella Fitness Co., Ltd., trading publicly as Bellasports, states that it offers OEM/ODM activewear development, works with its own fabric mills and uses imported machinery and tapes for bonded construction. Its public product coverage spans men's, women's and children's yoga, fitness, tennis, golf, running, hiking and lifestyle apparel.
The core company website does not present one clear universal MOQ. Company-controlled LinkedIn content states 500 pieces, while third-party product listings may show different figures. For a sourcing decision, the buyer should use a written quotation tied to the selected product and nominated production site.
What to verify before nomination: the legal and production-site relationship, whether the fabric mill and garment site are owned or affiliated, the bonded process used for the actual design, MOQ by color and style, test criteria, sample schedule and current bulk capacity.
Which manufacturer fits which program?
There is no universal winner. A buyer can narrow the first RFQ round by matching the product to the supplier's clearest public evidence:
- Technical cut-and-sew base layers, compression, Merino wool or specified FLATLOCK/ACTIVESEAM: start with Athletik Clothing.
- Fashion-led women's gym, yoga and athleisure collections: compare HUCAI and SANSANSUN.
- A program that may use seamless knitting or bonded/stitch-free construction: include SANSANSUN and Bellasports, then verify which process applies to the actual style.
- Broader-volume activewear and recycled-material sourcing: include INGORSPORTS and verify material traceability and site-level capacity.
- A 500-piece-per-style technical program: Athletik publishes that exact garment MOQ; the other suppliers should confirm how 500 pieces can be divided by color and size and whether custom fabric minimums apply separately.
What to send in the same RFQ
Send the same controlled package to every candidate so quotations remain comparable:
- Product type and intended activity.
- Tech pack or reference sample.
- Finished-fabric composition, GSM, stretch/recovery and performance requirements.
- Seam map and construction callouts.
- Size range and quantity by style, color and size.
- Artwork, labels, packaging and testing requirements.
- Target market, trade term, delivery destination and required date.
- Request for the legal entity, production-site address and disclosure of material or process subcontracting.
Then compare the approved sample, technical response, production controls and documented quotation—not only the unit price.
Buyer questions
Common buyer questions
Is 500 pieces per style enough for a custom sportswear program in China?
It can be. All five suppliers in this shortlist publicly indicate an order model at or below that level somewhere in their offer. Actual feasibility still depends on whether 500 pieces means one style or one color, whether the fabric is in stock or custom-made, the number of sizes, trim minimums, construction complexity and the supplier's current production plan.
Does a lower MOQ mean a manufacturer is a better fit for a mid-sized brand?
No. A lower MOQ reduces inventory exposure, but it may apply only to stock fabrics, existing ODM designs or limited customization. A mid-sized brand should compare repeatability, fabric and construction control, quality evidence, delivery reliability and scale-up capacity alongside MOQ.
Are the certifications listed on manufacturer websites verified in this guide?
No. This guide records public manufacturer statements but does not validate current certificates. Request the complete document and verify the legal entity, site, product or material scope, issuing body and validity date with the relevant certification or audit system.
Should a buyer contact all five factories?
Usually not. Select two or three whose documented product and process fit the program, send the same RFQ, and compare their technical response and samples. A focused shortlist produces more useful evidence than collecting many non-comparable quotations.
